Full-time Equivalent (FTE) Student Calculation Factors

Under the Florida State University System, the factors for calculating the number of student FTE's generated are as follows:

Term FTE Equivalent To Calculate Student FTE
Annual FTE 40 undergraduate student credit hours equal 1 FTE    Divide SCH* by 40
32 graduate student credit hours equal 1 FTE    Divide SCH* by 32

*Add Summer, Fall, and Spring student credit hours to get annual SCH

There are five Student Data Course File reports each year: Summer; Fall Preliminary; Fall Final; Spring Preliminary; and Spring Final. Preliminary files are due to the B.O.G. 8 weeks into the semester, and are as of the end of the fourth week of class. Final Files are due 7 weeks after the semester, the Summer file six weeks after the semester, and are as of the last day of Finals week.

NOTES: Titles used are those that have been consistent over time with the departmental structure. Some units, such as Home Economics Education and Comparative Policy Studies no longer are independent units. Hotel and Restaurant Administration is now called Hospitality Administration
